SMS Text Messaging Privacy

Info Collection. At your request or with your permission, we may use SMS-based text messaging to update you about the legal case in which we represent you. To do so, we collect and maintain certain personal information (such as your name, phone number, contact information, the date and time of the messages, and the content of the messages).

Info Use. This information, and these messages, become part of your confidential case file. Like any other information you share with us while we represent you, this information will be protected by our duty of confidentiality to our clients. We use your information solely to provide the legal services that you have retained us to provide. We will not share your data with third parties. And we do not use your personal information for marketing or advertising.

Updating Info / Opting Out. If you no longer want to receive SMS messages from Lipper Law lawyers or staff, please notify the Lipper Law lawyer or staff member with whom you are communicating. Likewise, if you want to update your phone number (or other personal information we are using to communicate with you), please notify the Lipper Law lawyer or staff member with whom you are communicating.

Data Security. Lipper Law takes reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.

Children’s Privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minor children without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact your Lipper Law attorney and ask to have it removed. 

Changes to SMS Privacy Policy. Lipper Law may occasionally update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. Any updates will be posted on our website at www.lipperlaw.org/sms. 

Other Terms. If your mobile carrier charges you for SMS messages or using mobile data, then those message and data rates may apply to SMS messages that you receive from Lipper Law.
